For half a century, Harvey Comics ruled newsstands, television screens, and the imaginations of children across America with family-friendly characters like Casper the Friendly Ghost, Richie Rich, Wendy, Spooky, Hot Stuff, Little Audrey, and so many more. The history of Harvey Comics is a story of three brothers, Alfred, his twin Leon, and their older brother Robert, and how they set precedent in publishing for decades. Family defined Harvey Comics through and through. The company was ultimately defined by the loyalty and betrayal between the brothers and their families. Journalist Jonny Harvey brings together stories from family members, artists, and historians to reveal the untold story of a company that influenced pop culture for decades.
